MYTH 1.
We only use 10% of our brain.
REALITY
Neurologists disagree with this.
We use virtually all parts of our brain.
Brain scans show that most of our brain is active almost all the time.
MYTH 2.
You should drink 8 glasses of water a day.
REALITY
You just don’t need to drink 8 glasses.
There are large amount of fluids contained in food and other drinks:Chailey, Uji etc.
MYTH 3.
Chameleons change color to match their surroundings
REALITY
They change color as a response to mood,temperature, light & not the color of the object they are in contact with.
MYTH 4.
Carrots help you see in the dark.
REALITY.
This was a British World War II propaganda to hide the fact that they had developed radar technology & could detect planes approaching in the dark.
The British Ministry of Information spread the myth that Carrots were the secret to their fighter pilots seeing in the dark & being able to shoot German aircraft in the dark.
MYTH 5.
Men think about sex every 7 seconds.
REALITY.
There’s no scientific evidence to support this.
MYTH 6.
Mt.Everest is the tallest mountain in the world.
REALITY.
Mauna Kea in Hawaii is the tallest mountain in the world,measured from the Base to summit.
The top of Mt.Everest is higher above sea level than any other mountain.
MYTH 7.
Humans have only 5 senses.
REALITY.
Humans have at least 9 senses,& most researchers think there are more like 21 senses.
MYTH 8.
Bats are blind.
REALITY
None of roughly 1,100 species of Bats are blind.
MYTH 9.
Different parts of your tongue detect different tastes.
REALITY.
All taste sensations come from all regions of the tongue,though different parts are more sensitive to certain tastes.
