Political analyst Herman Manyora has said President William Ruto did not choose a Cabinet team that would help him run the government.
Manyora in an interview with Spice FM on Monday alleged that the President thought he could run the government by himself.
“I have no doubt in my mind, in forming his Cabinet, the President had no intention whatsoever that these are people who can run the government for him,” he said.
Manyora described Ruto as focused, hardworking and intelligent.
“When the President put up the current team, I said this should be his undoing because the President is a competent leader, there is no doubt about that,” he said.
Manyora said there is only so much an individual can do and that is where the need for a team comes in.
“If you do not form a Cabinet of people who can help you, you do the job yourself. So, the president in forming his Cabinet was behaving like things should be so well in the country, he would be running government himself,” Manyora said.
Manyora said that Ruto is currently focused on politics and is losing sight of his role in running the government.
“But I pointed out to him my friend, you will be forced into politics at some point, and now he is forced into politics. Attending politics means he has no time to run the government. No time to run the government in a situation where you have no team to run the government because you thought you would do it yourself,” Manyora said.
He said Ruto is intelligent, and looking at his Cabinet, he knows they can’t help him run the government.
“The moment you turn away from the economics of running government to go into politics the economics will suffer and that is why we are where we are,” he said.
Tuambianeni ukweli, jambas is just plain incompetent. Every appointment he has made not a single one is inspiring confidence. Appointing dam thieves in CBK, fraudsters in KRA, corrupt-to-the-core plebs like Kidero, Mwajuma, Linturi… I expect this government to achieve zero development-wise. In fact, I expect us to go backwards and be overtaken by Tanzania.
This, and while I don’t like Ruto, I want him to succeed coz otherwise we are all fucked. Unfortunately Ruto doesn’t seem to have an idea on how to run the government, he just keeps making new promises every day while everything is falling apart.
It’s now 7 months since he took power, what have we achieved? NOTHING! In fact, the only thing Nabii has managed to do is increase our public debt by another hefty 500bn.
The turning point for Kenya was 2002. Kibaki squandered that opportunity by reverting back to factory settings, especially after losing the referendum.
Ruto too is another idiot that is way over his head. Does anything in him inspire?
At PS and technocrat level he should have brought his A game. You are hiring employees not loyalists of friends.
Those his allies angerusha kwa nondescript Parastatals. He also needs people that know only work unites him and them so that they work like hell wakijua kufutwa ni dakika.
When you have guys like Murkomen at the helm a man who is upgrading his underwear to Versace and Gucci at the tune of 300k … this country must and will go over the precipice.
ukweli. ukiwa president, marafiki heri uwapatie mashamba za umma na favours kidogo kidogo, lakini wakae mbali na zile offices sensitive, huko kukae watu wanajielewa, wenye wanaeza kuambia ukweli, na wenye unaeza futa bila kusita sita.
Of all the appointment Ruto has made, I would say Ababu Namwamba is the one trying to bring change on his docket. The rest act like they are hellbent on destroying their respective dockets
