it does not work like that. the car that hit you does not literally pay for damage to your car; unless its a minor scratch below insurance minimum limit and you are given small cash out of kindness. Its the responsibility of your insurance to pay you, not the insurance of the other car. Ensure your insurance is proper and upto date, dont care about the other car in case of an accident

to add on to this; lets assume that you are on the wrong - deny liability. Police will give you a cash bail of 5000 for careless driving. They will fill up forms for the other aggrieved party to chase his/her insurance. Before the day of court, they will call you to abandon the case, and forget your bond. They eat the money. its a waste of time chasing you for careless driving when its a minor accident unless there was human injury. In short, maximum kind offer to the other party is 5k.
