People really underestimate how versatile that software is. Account keeping, stock management…it does it all

Am inquiring for a friend.
For a pharmacy , Tally ERP 9 would be the most appropriate for comprehensive management of inventory and accounting . But sio free…
Just say its for your son. The movie business has already gone under? Now you are turning him into a pharmacist/chemist?
how different will it work from normal POS systems
Several POS systems are available but a chemist is tricky. You buy a box of piriton and you sell single tablets. So it should be able to break the batch into units. Drugs also have expiry dates.
This is easy. Most pos have this feature or workarounds. It’s all about the base unit, transaction unit and multiplier. To deal with expiry date use batch numbers and custom fields. Might be the wrong principle. Challenges with POS systems arise when your manufacturing products from raw materials and have to consider bill of materials (BOM). Eg. In the case of furniture, food products etc. The BOM of a burger is buns, patty and cheese. Depending on user requirements you may considering other costs such as gas, electricity that are incurred in development of the end product. I’ve done a restaurant setup where we tracked the straws, foam cups and ketchup. $$$$$$$$$$$$
Try Pharmasoft, is the most commonly used for the business.
I suggested Tally ERP 9 coz it is simple and sophisticated. The user can track the dates of manufacture and expiry on the inventory configuration parameters. Inventory can also be maintained in both batches and units. You also have an option of disabling the BOM features on the inventory parameters.
