Jana katika pilka pilka syangu nimekutana na hii concept ya Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. For those like me who are not Roman Catholics, this is a practice by the followers where they hang out with Jesus. At any catholic church, there’s that image of Jesus on the cross. So, Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration ensures that at any given time, 24/7/365 till eternity, that image is not left alone. Those who have taken part in it say that it is a refreshing experience. It is also during such hangouts that miracles are witnessed, e.g, someone may hear Jesus shout "Eli Eli Ramakrishna (sp), or you may see real water trickle from the punctured side. Or even meet Mary visiting her son.
Has any talker ever taken part in it? What is the biblical basis for this? Is it a worthy experience? Did you witness any miracle?
All of you are getting the whole thing wrong. You first need to understand the concept of transubstantiation before you start yapping here about idols, images, etc. I guess you are all familiar with this scripture:-
And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many”.
Whenever the bread or wine is blessed, it becomes the actual flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. This is derived from the fact that Jesus did not say “this represents or this stands for…”, but rather said “this is…”. We take His word literally. So, what you see there is not wheat or grape juice that has been blessed, but one that has been transformed into the actual flesh and blood of Christ. It therefore follows that whenever you undertake Eucharistic Adoration, you are spending time with Jesus, in the closest form it can get. You get to have an intimate encounter with our Saviour Jesus Christ through spending that holy hour in His presence.
Idolatry is worshiping idols. This is not an idol that we are worshiping, but we are adoring the actual flesh and blood of Christ.
Do you notice the difference?
@Gendarme stop. I respect your beliefs. No need trying to explain something that in my opinion goes fundamentally opposite of what you believe in.
Lets agree to let each to his own beliefs or lack thereof
