People Come From Far...Refuse To Change Their Mentality And Pay For It!

Pierre Nkurunziza (18 December 1964 – 8 June 2020) was a Burundian politician who served as the ninth president of Burundi for almost 15 years from August 2005 until his death in June 2020. A member of the Hutu ethnic group, Nkurunziza taught physical education before becoming involved in politics during the Burundian Civil War as part of the rebel National Council for the Defense of Democracy – Forces for the Defense of Democracy (Conseil National Pour la Défense de la Démocratie – Forces pour la Défense de la Démocratie, CNDD–FDD) of which he became the leader in 2000. The CNDD–FDD became a political party at the end of the Civil War and Nkurunziza was elected president. He held the post controversially for three terms, sparking significant public unrest in 2015. He announced his intention not to stand for re-election in 2020 and instead ceded power to Évariste Ndayishimiye, whose candidacy he had endorsed. He died of Covid-19 on 8 June 2020 shortly before the official end of his term. He was the longest-ruling president in Burundian history.

It was him against the world …at some point.

People wengine wako wapi?

Good riddance

When I heard many Ugandans support the now failed Burundi coup headed by Gen. Niyombare Godefroid, and men of respect like the former IGG -Augustine Ruzindana refer to it as “justified” with others calling for such against the Museveni Regime, I discoverd our Problems as a nation are far from over!

Ug President @KagutaMuseveni has been spotted running back to UG, after the staged coup in Burundi. [=AZX1o7w-5Rkl0uFmQJsCQn8ljSMWs4IR1EFtrsL-3HaLM3_WqMuL2wM0uC3QQcZ_mZsHJMqE6KBE4UyMuTujPYrkVR7FJqsrktLh0rvTtni0aKpsqH3XAhgEXgL8-8I6Myk&tn=NKF’]#BurundiCoup]('[0)

To begin with, the troubles in Burundi are as a result of failure to respect the constitution by Mr. Nkurunzinza the incumbent, the same constitution makes coups illegal, in even clearer terms! So is it constitutional to “uphold” the constitution by abusing it so long as its against the incumbent?!
Using Uganda’s coups as a case study, Coups have this effect of their leaders trying to hold and take the government as their property, since they sacrifice to “liberate” the nation, look at Museveni today! He actually thinks we owe him a lot and are only being ungrateful since, “Well, where were you when we were fighting?!”
The truth is ladies and gentlemen, if some other Ugandan risked his life to organise a coup and succcessfully overthrows the Museveni regime, he will still think we owe him and run things the way he deems best since its him that “Liberated” the nation afterall!
We as a nation should look at constitutional regime change as the means to stop this circle of Dictatorial regimes in Uganda. Its only when we the people put a leader in power, that he will know his is delegated powers from the people who can take it away, and then act in accordance to our needs, not his!
Lets never Forget that there will be more life after Museveni, his removal is not the end, but only a means to the end! The life after Museveni will be determined greatly by the method we decide to use in having him replaced!!
