People are leaving the church in Kenya

Those days when the vast majority were so much affiliated with the church are slowly fading.
These days people I know are churchified in a distant. And other majority are silent atheist. Are we slowly turning in a complete post Christian state this so with the gen z.

…I highly concur that there seems to be a shift in the level of affiliation with the church, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that we are turning into a post-Christian state. In fact, it’s important to note that this shift is not unique to Kenya, but is happening in many countries around the world.
One positive aspect of this shift is that people are increasingly QUESTIONING their beliefs and seeking a more personal and authentic connection with spirituality. This can lead to a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life, and a more open-minded and inclusive approach to different belief systems. (Like myself I stopped going to Church during the Covid19 pandemic after some keen observations…Story for another day.)

Moreover, the rise of technology and social media has enabled people to connect with others who share their beliefs and values, regardless of geographic location or traditional affiliations. This has created opportunities for new forms of community and support that may not have existed in the past.
It’s worth noting that many churches are adapting to this changing landscape by offering more flexible and accessible services, embracing diversity, and fostering a greater sense of community among their members.

This is where many church goers started doubting religion. They watched as their pastors, bishops and prophets told them to 'stay away from church". It did not make sense especially to the younger generation.

It’s because the percentage of educated people has increased.Educated people are not easily brainwashed. They apply reasoning and with the behavior of our current church leadersnot all of themlike Kanyari , are pushing people away.

Actually the more a population ventures into STEM subjects and research and development the more religion and other related and associated superstitious marathons loose meaning. Logic takes the place of conjecture na hivyo nsivyo churches zinabaki bure. That is why I always insist on degrees from reputable universities.

Anyone who stays 3 years without attending church service will automatically become an atheist. Without weekly brainwashing from the pastor there is absolutely no motivation to continue believing in the unseen.

I wouldnt say I am an atheist but I have really started questioning Christianity and I really feel guilty about it sometimes. Religious conditioning from birth is not easy to just quit. I am a Christian and I do not believe in eternal torment but it still worries me that I could be wrong somehow.

I share the same sentiment.I once asked myself one question ‘In every religion there’s a God or gods who created the world/Universe and human race, animals, plants’.Everything must have a creator,So who is His Creator?

Religion is a complex blend of culture, history, tradition, and beliefs.

The common thread of all religions is DOGMA - an instance of faith (unjustified belief).

Distinct beliefs cannot be justified and are therefore intellectually regressive.

Most religions accept one or more gods. All versions of god include logically impossible, mutually exclusive, or otherwise untestable attributes and are therefore indistinguishable from fiction.

-Igtheism (ignostiscism) means that the idea of god is too ineffable to be discussed rationally.
-Atheism is the lack of belief in any god.
-Agnosticism is the lack of certainty in one’s belief about god.
Kesho naenda church btw lakini I think I’m an agnostic.

Try bringing anything anti bible or church or Christian is when you will know that you can remove a man from the village but not the village from the man. Even non practising Christians in Kenya will not entertain things like LGBTQ, freemason and anything that isn’t biblical. Even presidential candidates understand that the way to a Kenyans vote is pretending to be a Christian.

Degree this degree that , after you die your degree will be burned with your clothes . Vanity
