Their population then in UK was about that of kenya now. and the county is about half the area of kenya. Its a tiny state yet it colonised the whole fuckin world. The trick is, u control the Seas and the Oceans, u rule the world, by then Britain had the best Navy, today the US have the best Navy, the exception is Russia, due to its strategic size.

Yah. the british ruled the seas then and built railways like crazy. But you still gotta give credit to them. it was a tiny country.
true dat… and every regional power in the world is their former colony or protectorate… from US, to South Africa (in the south), Kenya (in the east), Nigeria, Malaysia,hong Kong etc… contrast that to France which messed everything it touched

Most, but navy and army still play a key role. Kwanza urban guerrilla warfare that has been perfected in Iraq made the US military might seem ordinary.

Control the air and you control the battlespace, control the seas you control international trade. That aircraft is useless if you can’t get oil to fuel it. Even the US army has vessels (independent of the navy and military sealift command) to transport heavy equipment. Even if the current configuration of the royal navy is small according to first world standards, it is still able to project power around the world and maintain trade lanes at sea

Control the seas and you control everything. Weapons cant move, nobody can go anywhere, you have the air checked by aircraft carriers from any point, no trade, and you have missile batteries everywhere, and you can move your armies in hundreds of thousands.
Air can be countered easily. For example, Russians do not have a big air force and have old planes, but they have perfected asymmetric warfare through the art of shooting down anything. Even US, which has an air force bigger than that of the next seven countries combined dare not overfly Russia.
