Now that the president has single handedly made a decision not to pay teachers, the court order not withstanding, lets accept and move on to the next burning issue.
The former councillors are up in arms demanding what is rightfully theirs in terms of a one off pay to cost the tax payers about 18 billion for their “exemplary service to the nation” plus a 30k pension for the rest of their lives. Believe it or not they are getting consideration from the same quarters that have no money to pay teachers.
The big question is, will the government yield to their demands. I’ll take a wait and see approach on this.
