Matiangi is doing his job. That is what is happening.
Unaongea ni kama university strikes started in the last few years.
And before you say that more strikes are experienced nowadays, remember that more universities + more money involved in university politics = more strikes
kwani kuna minimum age limit ya kujoin university?
Only Universities attended by peasants ndo zinafungwaa…Birrionea Uni’s bado zipoo
Yes, your age should not be allowed in unis.

Me thinks the solution is to detach tuition from accommodation, catering and transport. That way, public universities only provide tuition halafu students watafute mahali pa kuishi na kukula the way it happens in private universities. Angalia kama hii upuzi ya kustrike because of power blackouts. What happens ni ninjas wenye wanaishi state house rd kwa hostel wanataka kuona ngwati after class. Stima hakuna. Solution, tuende strike. However, if this mofos live off campus, it will take some elaborate coordination to assemble people from ngara, mathare, kangemi, Nairobi west etc to pull off riots.
I think they should introduce that national service thing again - these nyang’aus kwanza zikajenge the Berlin wall huko mpaka ya Somalia before joining campus.
That way they come face to face with reality, sio hii mambo ya kutoka Lenana unaingia Chiromo the next month.
loooool and you think this is a solution? Technical University of Kenya former Kenya Poly strike every year and paralysing transport in town and other business na hawaishi ndani ya Shule.
NYS wont work too. any other idea
old hag stick to make billions off boiled eggs and visiting waganga…kwanza mimi nilijoin before nipate id
Taking notes, go on @Deorro
Vaa helmet mbili za Chuma.
They are coming for you
Uko na ukumbafu sana!!!. Why is it that public universities ndio zinagoma kila Siku. Ushawahi sikia strathmore, cuea ama Daystar wamegoma in the history of Kenya? Hata majuu ukipata admission kwa university, the first thing you have to prove ni your ability to survive off campus. What they don’t want is you to bring your shenanigans on campus. Yako ni kusoma na kusonga. Lakini hapa Kenya, university inataka kufunza while at the same time inataka kuprovide accomodation ,transport and catering services. This results in spreading resources so thin that quality is compromised hence disgruntlement. Challenge that!
universities dont provide accomodation, transport and catering services for free. students pay accomodation fees, no university offers free transport to students and students pay to eat in the university mess’ and pavilions.
Na saa hii bado hujamaliza- 12 yrs later- a BA Anthropology degree that should normally take 4 yrs? How daft are you? na admean anategemea wewe umsaidie kutengeneza pesa hapa? Poor guy is in problems.
You are missing the point son. Probably you need to educate yourself on what a university is. The issue I am raising relates to FOCUS. If you can’t focus, chaos will be your second name. That is why public universities are experiencing chaos on a daily basis. They are not focussed on their core mandate. Get the mofos off campus then concentrate on provision of tuition(core mandate) only. It is happening everywhere except in Africa.
Maybe to contextualise the issue, take a poll of the reasons why there have been chaos in public universities over the last ten years. Utapata ni vitu za upuzi kama blackouts. Kumbuka there was a time guys used to strike because of poor diet in public universities. Majamaa wanastrike eti wanataka uni iwapikie chapo. WTF. Upon privatising the same, mbona hakuna strikes kama hizo nowadays
12 years ago nilikuwa class 5… saa hizi naandika script ya project yangu ya mwisho next week namaliza.
universities don’t give students accommodation for free the students pay for it.
one thing you dont get is that public universities ndio man place for those from middle and lower class to gain education. unataka mtot wa university angane kulipa rent ya nyumba nje monthly yet per semester kwa uni atalipa 4k? the government subsidises those plus the tutuion fees so that everyone can be able to afford to have quality education. probably you were raised in a rich home, you attended private schools all through to university so unashangaa mbona wengine hawako kama wewe. there are those from poor backgrounds who worked hard in school got good grades and joined the university through government sponsorship. the government pays for them 85% of their fees and subsidises for them services in the university so that they can stay in school get the education na si kukaa nyumbani because they cannot afford the tuition fees plus accommodation fees yenye ni kubwa kushinda tuition. learn to look at the bigger picture and its effect on our economy.
universities pia si kama high school ama primary schools. students need access to university facilities like Libraries, internet, labs for their academic work. mtu akikaa library hadi saa nne usiku halafu anaishi nje and the area is insecure unataka afikaje kwake?
pia not all admited students are accomodated in the university High student enrolment has led to shortage of facilities and services | Nation
