The only way to avoid the rich getting richer, or other countries exploiting us, is to start from the ground up.

  1. Educate our kids. Set up scholarship funds to Australia for engineering works and other mine realted activites. We need a pool of over 1,000 skilled mine workers with experience. Not watu wa mkono. Engineers, shift managers, HR guys, the works…

  2. Structured funds. Real Estate is trying this with REITS. Similarly, we can have one for Mineral Resource Investment Trusts. The purpose of the MRIT being to accumulate capital from the masses in blocks of 20k, and invest in consortiums that either have the infrastructure, hold the rights to the minerals or run the actual mine work.

  3. Legislate: Enact into law that 75% of proceeds of mine work needs to stay in this country. From the contractors setting up the mines to the profits.
