The operation to take Kismayu was on two fronts. The first was a combined army-air force effort where the troops advanced on road. Just outside Kismayu, buffalos staged a massive paratrooper drop which helped to lie to al saitan that the invasion was coming from land and they prepared their defences to meet this oncoming rout.
This is the naval component.
Sasa ni Operation SledgeHammer, the operation to take Kismayu from the sea. The first amphibious landing in Africa. Ever.
As I had said sometime back, KNS Jasiri is versatile. Here it was hosting army SF and Navy SF who would be the first boots on the ground in Kismayu…

Since Jasiri haina landing pad, my best guess here is the chopper was running VBSS (Visit, board, search and seizure) drills or was going to refuel. Gunnery Sergeant @kiLo- (ama wewe ni officer? nimeguess.) Njoo utueleze what else a helo could be doing at sea with an OPV

RV Mtafiti (owned by ministry of fisheries, last time I checked), KNS Umoja or Nyayo, at the back could be Shujaa or Shupavu, The fat one could be Tana or Galana and the beautiful one KNS Jasiri. Currently the largest, but not for long.
