Hapa ume misquote. He said $1 million not shillings

Juzi kwa news si kuna mwalimu ako almos retiring hapo Ofafa Jericho Boys alisema amekwamia 60k gross for a decade or 2 despite being asked to get a masters or something.

Something else that I found interesting was when he said that out of the 3.2 million in formal employment in Kenya, about 700,000 are watchmen. That’s about 22% of the workforce

Making blanket statements is dumb. Next time ukisema 100k net is a good salary, you should specify “for who”. 100k net is a small fortune for a 25 year old bachelor who has just completed his education. 100k net is peanuts for a 45 year old man with 4 school-going children in Nairobi, a housewife, and elderly parents to look after.

Context ni muhimu sana when making such statements. Unfortunately, bonobos like you only see the income side, without considering the responsibilities column. A young bachelor earning 80k with zero responsibilities is comfortable but a 45 year old man earning 100k with a ton of responsibilities is suffering. See there, the salary amount is not the only factor that matters - the magnitude of responsibilities also matters alot.
