Once saved, always saved?

Getting saved is really about going back to where you always were, in God’s thoughts before the foundation of the world.

Those whom God predestined as His own, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. (Romans 8:29-30)

That’s why you cannot lose your salvation. For once God saves you, you are always saved!

After you become saved, your soul is SEALED by the Holy Spirit of God unto the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:30). Thereafter you undergo a circumcision not performed by human hands, (Colossians 2:11) separating your soul from the sinful flesh. Your soul is saved and sealed such that it cannot be contaminated by sin.

@Christ the King do you believe that sinners in hell are capable of redemption? I’m sorry if that sounds unscriptural in any way, but please hear me out. Since Jesus Christ has the keys to hell, can a repentant soul in hell crying out to Him for mercy find reprieve?

Few points for you to ponder,
1.God doesn’t do half work (it sounds better in kikuyu) sio kujaribu atakaua aki jaribu kukuokoa . He does areal and a true work at it . we have seen drunkards receive salvation ,as long as you are will and accept Christ regardless of who ,where or. what you are doing he will indeed hear you.
2. when you talk about sinners in hell getting redemption your theology is very wrong , you get forgiveness before not after going to hell .

If you continue to sin after a knowledge of the truth, you will go to hell.

Salvation demands fruits of salvation.

Paul tells the church that we are grafted branches. Israel was the original branch. Like the original branch was cut off… so can we

@messiahette you can lose your salvation.

Salvation is a covenant, a contract whose terms you can breach like any other.

Even Paul himself says he had to be careful lest he preached to others and missed it himself.

Christ himself warned about this repeatedly.

Read the letters to the seven churches. Sin and unrighteousness will always turn us from God.

The blood of Christ didn’t change God. He still can’t tolerate sin… always remember that!

Sinners in hell cannot be redeemed. This will go against Yahweh’s nature.

Are we saved through works 100%, grace 100% or a combination of both?
Ephesians 2:8-9. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.

What is “SIN?” Is adultery, stealing, lying,
sin or fruits of sin? John 16:9, Jesus said, “The world’s sin is unbelief in me.”

Can you point to scripture which says this?
Jude 1:24. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.

I believe that when we become saved, it is final. It cannot be undone! Christ is able to keep from falling until the last day. If salvation could be undone, that means the blood of Jesus and the penalty of sin He gave was insufficient.

John 10:27-28. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Isn’t Yahweh all loving though? Doesn’t He have the keys of Hell, Heaven and Death? How many times did the Israelites disobey and when they were punished, they would cry out and eventually God would make them whole again? Hell is an awful place and the poor souls languishing there must be really feeling that torment and possibly anger towards God. But what if they could repent, are you saying that God cannot forgive them? Remember He has all the keys. I can understand if vindictive Satan had the keys, then a sinner would never get out of there but God is indeed Eternally Merciful, isn’t He?

ROmans 11: 17-24
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

Here Paul is referring to Jews and Gentiles as a group. Because of unbelief, the Jews were cut off (for a time) so that Gentiles could be grafted in and currently hold that position in this 6th Dispensation of Grace we are currently living in. However, today unbelief is getting worse in the Gentile nations so once those whom God had predestined amongst the Gentiles enter in, then God will turn back His eyes towards the Jews and Israel will be grafted back. This scripture is not talking about an individual being cut off from salvation because once saved, you are eternally secure.

What about Matthew 12: 43-45?

43 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”

Once born again, the heart is renewed, but if one fails to keep it filled with the Holy Spirit, the demons return.

Unclean spirits can be diseases, physical or mental conditions afflicting the flesh, spirit, mind, conscience etc. Salvation is a soul issue. Being saved or born again means a regeneration of the soul. Bro it is impossible to keep yourself (body and spirit) sin free. Let’s be real, even as a Christian from the moment you wake up how many evil thoughts permeate your flesh and spirit before you have stepped outside your house? That’s why God has to literally save your soul and SEAL IT UP unto the day of redemption.

Genesis 6:5.
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

@messiahette
Hebrews 10:26
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning(AT) after we have received the knowledge of the truth,(AU) no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire(AV) that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.(AW) 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God(AX) underfoot,(AY) who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant(AZ) that sanctified them,(BA) and who has insulted the Spirit(BB) of grace?

Find me a scriptures that says born again Christians who sin still keep their salvation.

Don’t interpret the text, I want text that says that verbatim.

I will do the same with text that says the opposite verbatim.

Read the text above… it says verbatim what I am saying.

John 15:9
9 “As the Father has loved me,(M) so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands,(N) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

This is Christ Himself saying that his love for the believer is under the condition of obedience to His word.

Let’s work with verbatim text and not interpretation.

These are two verses that explicitly tell the believer that sin will remove them from God’s love and dawn them to God’s wrath verbatim.

A tricky question this, but I think because we are humans, we tend to be biased to a certain extent and we want to judge the Hell and Heaven situation according to how we would like it. Personally, I think when someone is sent to Hell he stays there because before going to Hell, a thorough and righteous judgment will have been made.

However, muslims believe that allah will rescue some people from Hell. It’s in the Hadith in chapter 52 and not in the Quran.

…when Allah has finished the judgments among His slaves, and intends to take out of the Fire whoever He wishes to take out from among those who used to testify that none had the right to be worshipped but Allah. We will order the angels to take them out and the angels will know them by the mark of the traces of prostration (on their foreheads)…

You make the mistake that most men make…

You are trying to set the standards for God. Its not man who sets the standards for God, its God to set the standards for man.

So you judge that for God to be merciful, He has to show compassion for people in hell.

Understand this, God is God, we are men of the dust. We don’t set standards for Him to achieve…

He asked the Israelites to butcher the women and children of Jericho… He was still merciful then.

He destroyed the world in the flood… infants and young children included… but that didn’t affect the fact that He is merciful.

So, the question isn’t if God has met man’s criteria. The question is what do the scriptures say God will do…

If God says men will be damned forever… they will be damned forever and it doesn’t change the fact He is merciful.

Don’t set standards for God… that’s the height of human arrogance.

Ati “If God is all merciful then He can’t…”

Who made you judge over God?

That God is only merciful if He meets @messiahette standards for mercy?

It is asigned for men to live once, after that judgement.

Some will rise to eternal glory, others to eternal damnation.

As clear as the text can get…

How were Jews cut off for a while?

Has salvation ever been such that Jews aren’t part of it?

I agree.

1.In the book of Genesis…when Noah was told to make the ark…He preached for 120yrs while making the ark…but the day the door was closed. It was never opened again.
2.In Sodom and Gomorrah, when Yahweh raised His hand against the city…He did not reverse His decision untill the city was destroyed. When Yahweh executes His judgement its done.
3.In the case of Israel…Yahweh did not only spare Israel because for His love for them…but because of His covenant with Abraham…Take note…this covenant was not effective because of Abraham’s faith…but because of Yahweh’s unchanging nature…and His ability to stay true to His Word. Also note that Israel had to stay for 70 years in bondage and no amount of repentance could have saved them untill the period is fulfilled. That is why Daniel had to gain understanding from the writings of Jeremiah and intervene in once the season was over to discern Yahweh’s Word.
Once Yahweh commits to do something with His Word…He will fulfill it…whether we believe it or not…because if He goes against His Word…He will no longer be consistent…and therefore His Word can never be relied upon.Keep in mind that even the devil still operates as an angel…it is impossible for Yahweh to go against His nature.
4.Hell is what is called the 2nd death…and the reason it is called 2nd death is because this refers to Spiritual Death…a state in which you can nolonger hear Yahweh or speak to Yahweh…So how can the people in hell even repent…when Yahweh can nolonger hear their prayers?
5.If people in hell can repent…why did Yeshua (Jesus Christ) focus his ministry so on repentance while on earth? Why is He speaking to the 7 churches in the book of Revelation urging them to repent? The moment we die the only thing we are awaiting is the righteous judgement of Yahweh.

Well and good, thanks. I had a recent debate with a respectable church-mate who initiated that topic and I was so shook up inside thinking about these souls which might be able to find salvation in hell. I believe it is not scriptural though I don’t have anything to refute it.
