On demand Business Models

The uber like business models that have become a trend where you can order for goods and services at the tap of a screen seem to be popping up everywhere. In SA there’s such a service for flowers, in Kenya we have meats and alcohol being tried by Jumia, also in retail shopping there was/is a startup that does shopping and delivers to households and also the same for domestic househelps, property and also moving houses. Remember Walmart tried to fight off Amazon competition by also investing in their own in house on demand shopping that eventually failed, and what Hulu and Netflix did to DVD rentals.
What industry in Kenya would be well disrupted by such a service as Uber did to the established taxi companies and what would it take to achieve that level of disruption. Or are we getting this On demand model wrong?
Jumia is haemorrhaging money, there was this startup where you could book seats on Easy Coach et al from your phone but seems to have died, what do we need to get it right?
