So immediately after clearing Campus, i had no Job completely. Acha ile kushikilia kama Intern, i mean dry kabisa .
Good thing i dropped the Entitlements kitambo and joined gang ya mjengo… Doing my research i realized watu wako huko 60% was graduates. So i stopped feeling sorry for myself and got to work till i was a qualified mason. In a Godly way, i finally got employed for what i studied.
In my free time, kuna nyumba yangu personal nimeanza kujenga, i have noticed 90% watu wa kutoka mjengo ni Graduates manze. Nimedirect maguys kama wote kwa foreman . Its motivating but sad at the same time … Mnataka Vijana waende wapi man?
i see no problem with a graduate in mjengo as its only a temporary recourse/hustle while they await for or explore a job opening in the field they are skilled at. Give them props for having an income however little instead ya kukaa na paro kejani who might see you as a burden. Noma ni if they get too comfortable with it na hataki kusaka job amesomea kwingine
Purpose ya education should be to open up one’s mind. Once the mind is open enough to be able to see opportunities one should be able to convert these opportunities into money making ventures. Eg you could move to a hood and see that there is no water delivery service or wines and spirits, fill that gap. You could walk I to a mall and realize out of the many shops already opened, none provides pharma products for sale, open up one there. If one has access to capital, get into big business. Eg currently infant nutrition is extremely attractive. Kenyan women are not suckling their babies coz eg work, the drink too much, they don’t eat well etc. Be on top of the food chain by getting sole importer license from a manufacturer.
The circumstances that led me into business was retrenchment. However, if I knew what I know now, ningeingia bizz kitambo sana. Hakunanga cha huyu ni graduate anafaa kufanya job flani. Sai Kenya ina churn 1M graduates annually.Success belongs to those who seek opportunities, not to those who think opportunities belong to them coz wame graduate.
Me i have younger brothers walikataa kusoma vizuri wakenda colle for Diploma. After college wanatafuta career jobs using their diplomas. Then si obviously wanakosa jobo. Nawaambia watafute manual labors or any kind of work kushikilia before wapate what their looking for. Wajinga hawasikii. Nawaulizanga ikiwa kuna watu wako na degrees na masters na wana tarmac; wao na diploma wana expect nini. Kazi ni kazi. Tafuta hata casual job ikushikilie si kukaa tu ndee na kulia kama fala ati hakuna job.
Blame it on your parents and bonobo mentality…Let me leave this Bible verse here , “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22).
