Of Ghettos, Poverty and Protests

Niggas couldn’t catch herpes in a whorehouse.

Tweeps on Twitter tweeting about rallies happening just in the ghettos and the question is, why? The answer is right there, they have nothing better to do. What do you think would thrill someone in a 12 by 14 feet single room, no running water, no garbage collection, no public amenities, no govt services close-by?
When you are broke, you only see a blizzard. That blizzard clears once in a while when someone richer than you comes along and lies to your face that you should fight together for a worthy cause. That there is basic human psychology, we all want to be seen and heard and in this demos, poor folks feel heard and seen. how many times do you get to see them ghettos on the news?

The quickest way to lose political support is to let your supporters move up the wealth ladder. It is evident that once one gets into the mid-middle-class and above, they stop caring much. They will only cry about fuel prices, chemical infused chicken, high tax on mzingas, rising dollar prices, Netflix prices, Samidoh’s side chicks, etc. What is a fuel price to someone cooking with paraffin/charcoal?

It is easier for a rich outsider to get support of the poor than for the poor to support one of their own, field report: Jaguar vs Boniface, Jalang’o in LA, etc. Raila should keep on with the ghettos, they love it and will be a part of that shit. If you don’t play the game, you will be a pawn in someone else’s game, and poor folks are great pawns.

I think you are wrong. Rallies and demonstrations happen more in ghettos because they feel the impact of political decisions more. Its that simple. Whoever feels the most pain screams first and loudest.

Consider a few examples. If the government were to end free education, who would suffer most?? The middle class and above already educate their kids in private school. That policy change would overwhelmingly affect poor people. Consider another example. If the price of maize flour triples, who will be most affected?? The guy in the ghetto will have to choose between feeding his family or say walking many kilometers to work. Therefore, that economic change affects poor families more.

Political and economic changes usually affect poor people more. That’s why they care more than the middle and upper classes. The poorer you are, the more vulnerable you become to economic and political changes. Hata fare ya ma3 ikipanda by 50 bob it might mean walking 10+ kilometers to work instead of javing.
