For some reason, I have never believed that a governor could have played it in such an amateurish manner. I always get the feeling that there is more to this story than is being revealed. I mean, how could he so obviously implicate himself? It is as if he was plotting to get himself to be implicated, right from the outset? And then, just when he gets arrested, corruption claims come up and his entire clan’s bank accounts are frozen. At least for the garrisa governor case, you see some intellect. The hit is (allegedly) contracted to Mohamud Aden, who in turn sub-contracts Janet Njoki who in turn sub-sub-contracts David Mwai… Isn’t that how those things are done? But in Obado’s case… yawa, using a PA who in turn uses a county clerk’s vehicle (and folks who still go ahead even after the journalist escapes)? And how does the journalist really manage to escape from folks so brutal? It is as if he is deliberately let go to leak the story.
For someone looking to get the truth, the cases that look too obvious often turn out to be the hardest to crack.

yes, either it is a set up, or the guy is pathologically stupid. given how things have panned out, i suspect a complex set up.

In most of these high profile crimes, law enforcement most of the times, and I mean 95% of the times, have solid facts that can lead to successful prosecution.
But then, it all depend with what the people above say. It seems Obado has no Godfather to cool down the heat, and in any case, the powers be, want him out of that seat ASAP.

1.Obado is clinically stupid.
2.Obado thought he had too much power such that the murder of a nobody (Sharon) won’t have any implications on him, hence the sloppiness and impunity he carried out the murder.
3.If Obado is not eating cold Ugali in Shimo la tewa by new year it conclusively proves that this country does not function like a normal country.

my fren, I am just trying to have an open mind about the whole matter. he could have done it. he could also have not done it. you never know, with these things. with some of these high-profile jobs that people hold, if you don’t play ball in certain deals, you can be very easily messed up with. and it is done in such a convincing manner that you can’t extricate yourself. but i am not defending the bugger too much either, for he has well proven violent tendencies.
well, there are lots of facts to suggest that he did it. there also are lots of facts to introduce doubt. either way, it is a difficult situation for him.
This sharon chic was not a nobody. She was prolly one of those honey-traps used by the agencies. So they hire her and put her in uni to read for some nonsense course, just to acquire the title of university student. She just wanted the title, and didn’t care too much about the course. Heck, she had already deferred her studies, but maintained the title of ‘university student’. The agencies, when they hire you, can even actually get you a degree, if need be and most of our politicians seem to have such fake degrees obtained for them by the agencies. Having given you a fake degree, they know that they have yet one more thing they can blackmail you with when need arises. They can even get you a wife, whom they can use to take you out if need arises. But i digress. For you to really understand how this world works, you really need to know how the agencies operate. For it is the agencies that run the world. In sharon’s case, getting to hobnob with these big shots is not as easy as it looks. Especially for an average looking single mother with a troika of kids. She’s like those bar-based pokos. They almost always have very high-level connections. They can summon the deputy ocs at a moment’s notice, if need arises. So the lucas ouko guy had to visit the obado pa in the cells. I sound like a drunk…
Just to play devil’s advocate here kiasi; has this evidence been filed before a court yet ama it turns out to be creative journalism by some bloggers?
The only mistake obado did was to still order the hit after the journalist escaped. Maybe they thought he didn’t survive or they would get to him. Otherwise if both Sharon and oduor were killed, obado would be free.

You have been watching too many spy movies. I don’t think we have reached there when it comes to corruption, maybe terrorism but not corruption agencies.
And as I’ve said here before, the guy is inexperienced and probably acted on emotion, it isn’t as easy to kill a person as they show in the movies, especially not on the watch of people like Kinoti and Haji.
could be. could also be that he was instructed to give a tender to someone and failed to do so. or he refused to open his gate as some of these big guys are expected to do from time to time.
never underestimate the efficacy of our agencies. they are trained by the best. everything done by american, european or asian agencies, our agencies are also capable of doing it. anyway, it is a fascinating case. it has received extraordinary coverage. unlike the mercy keino case, yet the mercy keino case was more obvious because it happened with witnesses, in an urban apartments setting.
I don’t underestimate them I just think the goodwill to do it isn’t there yet. But the reason why it has received wide coverage is because of Haji and Kinoti. Under their predecessors ungeskia Obado has obtained anticipatory bail and that would have been the end of the case.
