One of bottom’s close friends in the US was hospitalized and on life support. When the illness got to a very advanced stage, the hospital gave the family the option of withdrawing life support. Somehow @Bottoms got involved and he was chosen to make that final decision.
His friend overheard this conversion and tried to plead with him through limited sign language but @Bottoms had already made his decision. He signed the papers and life support was withdrawn immediately. Bottoms friend died later the same day.
Being the lonely man he is, and given it was late in the night, Bottoms did not have the opportunity to go and talk to his fish in the lake (Bottoms number one hobby is fishing).
