A class one pupil is nursing injuries on his private parts after he was allegedly punished by three teachers in Nyahururu, Nyandarua County.
The seven-year-old is admitted to Nyandarua County Referral Hospital and doctors are trying to restore his damaged testicles.
Dr Wambui Ngatia, who is attending to the boy, said his left scrotum had a 6cm tear and is seriously damaged following the assault.
The boy’s mother said she received a phone call from the school headteacher on Thursday afternoon informing her that her child had a problem.
“When I arrived at the school I found my son sleeping, unconscious at the staffroom and some teachers were trying to give him first aid.
“There were also stains of blood in his school short. I tried to enquire from the teachers what had happened to my son and why they had not taken him to hospital but no one answered me,” said the mother.
Nyandarua West police boss Joseph Cheruiyot said police are hunting for the three teachers who are on the run.
On The Star they’re reporting that the 3 teachers Ngugi, Macharia and Kimeria have fled.
When I was taking junior to school I told the principal mtoto wangu hapigwi. She agreed but I could tell by her body language she was uncomfortable but I didn’t care. I said the same thing to his class teacher. I wish all parents would also do that.
I hope the 3 teachers go to jail for a long long time.
A very sad story, some teachers punish other people’s children in a manner they do not dare punish their own children, corporal punishment ought to be outlawed especially for very young children.
