Nu Nairobi

If you are keen enough, you might notice a Wave of Artists that have sprout up and are working hard to become part of the dominant names in the Kenyan Entertainment Scene. It is rare to hear their tracks in the Mainstream media since the Kenyan Industry is set up differently, mainly glorifying Foreign Artists and all while looking down on our own. While few have been really been appreciated when it comes to Kenyan Hiphop, the likes of Kaligraph Jones, Octopizzo and King Kaka.

I’ve been lucky enough to attend some of their shows at the Alchemist Bar in Westlands and have never been disappointed.

Let me introduce you to the New Wave, Nu Nairobi. These are some of my favourite artists that are grinding hard and deserve the recognition for what they put out. I’ll also post their essential Tracks for you to sample.

:D:D:D Let’s be open to new ideas and styles

Personally am stuck to the 90’s, Hii muziki ya leo ni :meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi:

Their whole aesthetic tends to be borrowed rather than local. ANd my local I don’t mean Kamaru. I mean they only appeal to someone that say Rae Sremmurd already appeals to.
