December 12th marks Kenya’s independence from colonial rule yet Kenya’s greatest independence hero, Field Marshall Dedan Kĩmathi Waciũri lies bound up in chains in an unmarked grave in Kamiti prison.

Neither the British government, which tortured and killed Kĩmathi, nor the Kenyan government seems willing to set the hero’s remains free to be accorded a befitting burial.

Kĩmathi’s widow, Mũkami Kĩmathi has been given the run-around since 18 February 1957 when he was killed aged 36.

Bibi yai will accord him n other heroes decent send offs and national recognition
