Gatheca is in China to attend the Second Belt and Road Conference…So far some deals have been inked including allowing export of Kenyan Avocados to the 1.4b Chinese market. But the most awaited deal was the 368b loan deal to extend the SGR to Kisumu and it stands, this is not going to happen. Watu wa kisumu hawalipi tax. ???
Damn! I heard UK wants half of the Naivasha-Ksm cost ikue grant, Shainaman amekataa hio maneno hence the delays
Why not emulate maghufuli and let it be built by the army? We can bring the idle ones back from Somalia and make them do something productive for once!
It makes more economic sense to upgrade the existing line, perhaps SGR could have reached Nakuru to have a greater impact on the expansive Riftvalley.
Baba ataambia nini watu wa Kisumu Pacho?
Tu semeni ukweli ame nyimwo juu ya…:D:D

They should have rehabilitated the old line from day one, and asked the chinease to build an engine to fit them
Hii mambo ya inflated land compensation makes infrustructure development ridiculously expensive. Rehabilitating the old rail is a waste of resources, they should expand that road to a two lane dual carriageway to eld. In future it can be extended to bungoma etc
If it doesnt get to Uganda then what has been completed till now is not viable. It needs to be used to ferry goods all the way to Uganda and Rwanda and also the western parts of kenya to make it a viable, profitable project
Penda saana.
If we are given that loan… in the pretext of Kisumu SGR, … some billionaires are to be trillionaires, so am not boarding, the idea of Kisumu SGR, i smell a scandal sana
Do you have photos of Magufool’s army-built SGR?
:D:D:D:D:D
By now Kenyan engineers should have learnt from the chinese how to construct SGR. Kutoka mombasa hadi naivasha and they still can’t do it without the Chinese.
Serikali inunue equipments from the Chinese and let our people do the work!
Tutakosea a few kilometers but with time we will become perfect. Even the Chinese started from somewhere. Tujiamini!
Must be the chinese have found a better route. The SGR was never our idea in the first place, we are just a link to a bigger plan.

I knew this thing was headed nowhere the moment our loan for it was approaching 1 trillion. They should have let it end in Nairobi and plan and the next way forward instead of ending it in a valley called Narok with no any e economic benefits at all…
am honestly happy about this
It’s actually very cheap to expand the current meter gauge rail to standard by NYS and the workforce that did the sgr. It’s just concrete slippers, bolts and nuts. No buying of land and rails.
