Njugu Karanga

Very curious type of food.
Mimi nimezijua since nikiwa primary. I was a member of the 4K Club and our patron, alikua anaitwa Mr Johnson, alikua anapenda njugu karanga sana. No wonder, after harvesting, hatukujua zilikua zinapelekwa wapi. Mahindi and beans zilikua zinapelekwa sokoni na hiyo pesa tunafanya party. Lakini njugu karanga!!!

Anyway, so many people don’t know nothing about peanuts! Kwa mfano, did you know that peanuts are not true nuts and instead, peanuts ni aina ya legumes, yaani aina maharagwe?
Peanuts develop weirdly. Huwa zatoa maua kama maharagwe. Wakati mmea umezaa huwa unainama na kuficha maharagwe yake kwenye mchanga. No matter how long and keenly you keep vigil, you can’t see it burry it’s beans in the soil.
Kutoka unapata njugu karanga, a very delicious food whose nutrition value cannot be overstated!

Watu wengi wanafikiri njugu karanga inakuwa kwenye miti kama maembe!

Si kwa sayans-and-agrikacha tuliambiwa legumes kama maharagwe huwa na fibrous roots? Iweje hii umesema ni legume lakini ina taproot?

There’s exceptions to the rule. For instance, there’s a rapidly growing tree in my locality that’s beloved of goats. Gets its seeds in pods and, IMO, is a good replacement for eucalyptus in building & construction. And yet, it’s a legume.

ooooooh. so even in sayansandagrikacha there are rules and exceptions, eh?
