Nilibeba jini na bodaboda
Before you throw stones at me or scroll away take a minute n read this scary ordeal that happened to me way back in the year 2008.
Back then in Thika , most bodaboda zilikuwa za baisikeli. I happened to be renting a bike @50/= per day from a certain guy called mwaura. I would pick the bike yani the black mamba from mwaura @7a.m n return it @7p.m jioni pamoja na 50/= ya kokoboa.
On average I used to make 250-300 Bob per day .
I used to ferry my customers within Thika town but after certain laws tukafukuzwa Thika town ndani tukawa tunabebea hapo nje ya prison au mukereti market .
I found myself a nice stage , nje ya TTI which later became mku. Hapa customers were in plenty mostly students wakienda Thika town au wakitoka Thika town. Weekends were the best days, early in the morning or late at night wakitoka au wakienda rave…
So one afternoon which I vividly remember was a Friday nikiwa hapo oil Libya , near equity bank a young beautiful lady with luhya accent stopped me and asked me mku Ni ngapi. I thought fast this must be a fresher since she was carrying a big suitcase plus she seemed new in Thika. I told her Ni fiftee though Ni place ya 10 Bob n since she had a suitcase that would be 100 Bob. She smiled and agreed. Nikasongesha bike kwa ka pavement place Yello Yello ataweza panda vi simple alafu ashike suitcase.
The Yello Yello was a talker tayari nilikuwa nimejua kwao Ni vihiga and she was reporting to colle for the 1st time. As I pendald yani Nikinyonyera the lady could ask me hapa Ni wapi n would tell her, tukapita Thika medical hospital, general kago mortuary, then Thika tech . All this time the conversation was hot . Tulipofika hapo kwa the veteran cementaries na pia kwa makaburi za wasio nafamilia I turned my head to tell her about those cementaries …… the lady was not there neither the big suitcase . I hit the brakes then stopped I checked behind but she was nowhere .
I stood for a moment ,wondering wat next but kwa umbali karibu na gate ya mku , I could see the luhya gal with her briefcase waving at me. She was in front of me , 400 meters away waaah Semakushtuka . I returned the bike to mwaura n Neva told him about the incident…… to this day whenever I pass there my heart skips few beats juu ya wogaa…….
