Do you pick a bottle of water to quench your thirst without checking the packaging company’s details?

Be warned. The Kenya Bureau of Statistics (Kebs) has now issued an alert, saying 157 water bottling companies in Kenya are operating illegally.

They say operating illegally, we know it’s coz they’ve not paid their Kebs dues.

What this means To me is that this is the list of those who have not remitted chai ya wazee (the cartel) for this month! Kama wewe ni mmoja wao just do the necessary ili kampuni yako itolewe kwa hiyo blacklist!

not necessarily. there are just too many counterfeiters out there - with most trying to imitate the known brands -. there are some brands you’ll only find in northern kenya, or in kiosks but never in supermarkets.

this is just a matter of who hasn’t bribed who. judging by the number of fake products in the country, KEBS should have collected more than KRA by mid year

I thought there was a Kenyan company called African Marine that had been given the same tender around 2014? Or thy failed to deliver?
