Unless one is dim-eyed, it shouldn’t be hard to see the automation wave on the horizon. Instead of justifying their continued stay, these dim-eyed guys are justifying the layoffs that are surely coming. What do they expect to pluck when they’ve burnt 60 acres of tea?

People already concluding the workers are dim eyed yet the tribe (s) they come from is not even mentioned in the story. Comprehension is a bitch.
