It appears, after the dissolution of the old councils and town clerks etc. no one was assigned the responsibility of urban planning and maintenance.
Our towns are at an advanced state of accelerated degeneration, there is no more urban planning or maintenance.
Nakuru town has fallen, once the most beautiful town south of the Sahara is a benchmark of what has gone wrong with many of our urban centres, it qualifies to be described as sprawling urban slum; It is dangerous just walking along the main streets, gaping holes everywhere. The old architecture of sturdy buildings have been modified without any reference to historical importance into haphazard shady like high-rise buildings that would not look out of place in Kagemi or kayole.
One is fortunate not to break a leg by simply walking on and off the main high streets.
Sllepping Giant, it will raise again.
Be an optimist for once, ndiendaga andu aria moonaga uuru hindi chiothe, look at the potential wiichirie uria tungithondeka msha Giant ino igiukira
Trucks have always been getting stuck under that railway bridge since the time I used to live there in the 90’s.
20 years later, no one has ever thought of coming up with an alternative?
Mimi nimezaliwa nakuru…Nakuru’s demise started in the late 90s…and peaked after 2007 post election violence…actually kinuthia and Lee have done well infrastructure wise…7yrs ago nakuru was dead! No water, no roads and no security but I see these areas start to improve steadily…maji yenye huenda shamba za moi irudishwe town and we will be fine.
Fogo ni yule jamaa alikua anakula wanawake maini he lived in that town.
Huyo wa tatu is/was a serial killer thats still in the loose. I’m surprised hujauliza onyancha ni nani
Ati kii, Do not generalize bana.
Guys Nakuru is home to soo many livelihoods esp after the skirmishes the town became flooded by the idps who started small businesses in the town. One Kinuthia Mbugua allowed construction of the Vibandas along the pavements and parking spaces. Now after they have stayed for about 3-4yrs the town is to become city and all those people have been given notices to demolish. and they have not provided any remedy to anyone anyway
Tell me how many lives will be messed up because of lack of good planning.
In the first place a permanent solution would have been thought .
