Nairobi Stock Exchange: Hasara Tupu

Whereas if he had invested in T Bills, he’d still have the principal intact. The best ways to invest in my opinion is:

  1. Individual Stocks of large market cap companies in America (MSFT, NVIDIA, META, ALPHABET, APPLE etc etc etc etc)

  2. Growth Index Funds (SCHD, VOO) that appreciate well and pay a little in dividends

  3. Dividend Paying ETFs (Index Funds) like JEPI, JEPIQ, etc)

  4. Retirement Accounts (401k, Roth IRA, HSA)

  5. Crypto (spend not more than 5% of your money investing in crypto)

  6. Kenyan Treasury Bills and Infrastructure Bonds

Most Kenyans can’t do 1-4 because they don’t have an American bank account, phone number and/or don’t live there. However, 1-3 is doable if you can find a way to invest in their stock market.

Most Kenyans can do 1,2,3,5 and 6. Just get someone to create a bank account/phone number/address in America. Pay someone if you have to.

Otherwise you’ll remain locked out from ever making real wealth. Avoid the Kenyan stock market because African led companies crumble at every turn. Growth is non-existent and only the owners and majority shareholders benefit. This is just my take. It’s your money so do whatever you want with it.

It’s harder than you described. Unless you lived abroad and have a Sin, it’s difficult. Even undocumented immigrants in US have a challenge doing those listed.

Wewe uko na hizo account? I saw an app that offers those options. I think ilikuwa HiSa but I didn’t explore.

Yeah you need to figure out a way of going there. You can open a bank account, brokerage accounts, a SSN and even a drivers license with a tourist visa. I don’t know of any other way.

I have three passports and have been exploring investing for people in trust. Tunaandikiana and I take your funds offshore and you direct me to invest for you at a commission. Kind of like a Family Office. You can be my first client.

This is a good idea. However, I can’t be your first client because I managed to get an American bank account and a brokerage account as well.

Your target market also has the means to travel and create those accounts. Unless you create a platform that allows people overseas to create those accounts and charge fees.

Ni kuongeza ama kupunguza zeros mahali haifai. I know of several saccos that report losses all year round in their management accounts but miraculously make a profit in December of which they proceed to pay dividends to their members.

Not cooking books per say, it’s just how banks operate. Like have you ever asked yourself where banks get money to lend? Ofcourse, it’s not from people’s deposits as we’re meant to believe but Banks all over the world create virtual account in what is called a promissory note, they are keen not to exceed some percentage of their deposited money as leverage, through prudent arrangements like asking for collateral and shit, then create an account for you and extend the loan to you, ensuring that they insure it and pass on the cost to you in your loan application. If you repay back, then well and good, if you don’t, the insurance takes the heat. That’s why banks with really bad non performing loans still announce phenomenal profits year out, Equity bank khasia. I’ll look for the documentary that explains it me nimefika mwisho.

You can’t afford my fees so hata ungetaka huwesmake.

The way to do it is to open an American company then invest through it. That is easy for a non American to do nowadays. Costs like $500. In that case the only thing you would need from a diasporan is a US address to register the business to. However if you have over $300k to invest, investment banks will cater to you directly even from a shithole country

Investment in stocks and money markets in Kenya is a scam. The final position is a worse off position factoring inflation.
Real estate is grossly overvalued and difficult to liquidate.
Been betting my retirement plan on farming a variety long term crops like oranges, mangoes, avocado, macadamia…but could also go belly up.

Congratulations. What do you want to know next?? My ID number and KRA Pin?? Heheh

You have said previously you have a portfolio of stocks that you use to pay rent. The rest of us are fools because we do not utilize the same strategy. How much do you hold in stocks?

I think you are retarded if you expect me to answer that question.
