As the returning officer of today’s election, I desire to announce the results of the election. But before I do so I need to bring your attention to the following:
[ul]
[li]The commission led by the Chairman @Meria Mata thanks all those who participated in the exercise. The exercise was largely peaceful and the voter turnout was quite good. In terms of gender, the males outnumbered the females. We however had a vote from one shemale (@aviator ).[/li]
[li]There was one rowdy voter who after drinking Gilbeys in a nearby bar, decided to cause disturbance to the peaceful wananchi accompanied by his shepart dog. The commission took note of this voter and he was immediately struck off the voters list. A tribunal has been formed chaired by commissioner @old monk to discuss when the voter will be allowed back into the register.[/li]
[li]There was also another voter who wananchi informed us is normally seen gravitating around King’eero area. This voter was trying to bribe other voters outside the polling station. Despite issuing several threats that he is a big wig in the society, our gallant officers led by @pamba and @imei2012 arrested him and he is already in remand. He will be arraigned in court on Monday.[/li]
[li]For the first time, we had voters from diaspora. We had one vote from each of the following countries: USA (@kiLo- ), Germany (@Jirani ), Israel (@Acoustic ), Dubai (@kush yule mnono), Iraq (@Twangapepeta ) and Uganda (@madova ). We also had one spoilt vote from Stoke City but due to insecurity and impassable roads around the voter’s place, the commission couldn’t identify who the voter was.[/li]
[li]Finally, we want to thank the following: - the media led by the never tiring nor retiring Mutegi Njau @TopCat for covering the event live. The area DO @ Fala 12 Our IT team led by @Deorro and homo @Web Dev for giving us a fool proof system and the management of the school where the voting took place led by their English teacher @gashwin.[/li][/ul]
The results are therefore as follows:
A. Kidero- 7 votes
B. Waweru-12 votes
C. Sonko- 34 votes
D. Wanjiru- 3 votes
E. Waiguru- 39 votes
F. Spoilt- 13 votes
The commission therefore announces Anne Waiguru as the next governor of Nairobi County.
