The mistake you make is to compare things dollar for dollar. For militaries it doesn’t work like that. American soldiers are the most overpaid Sobs in the world. An average US soldier earns more than five times what a spetznaz commando does. But give them a gun and see who comes on top. Same with weapon systems - America’s are over-priced compared to Russian ones which are often better. Do not think countries like Egypt and Turkey are starting to use Russian platforms because they are stupid. Lastly, America’s enormous military budget goes to support its almost 300 bases around the world. Think about that - 300 bases (I think). In contrast Russia or China have just one or two bases away. Guka its 800 bases. Even its $700 billion annual budget is underquoted. Lastly add the private contractors working for pentagon and cia. Those numbers can make a good private army. The usa has mortgaged it’s economy and defence on its expansive foreign policy.

I guess these are your theories. As a person I regard as well informed, I do not want to think that you dont know the importance of worldwide airbases for power projection. For instance, it would have been impossible for US to bomb Japan during WW2 without Guam airbases

my friend, US military has been in a major conflict every decade from the 2nd world war, its not even about their nuclear weapons , submarines and other fighter jets… their military logistics is 1st to none … they have the experience of mobilizing , moving and supplying men and material globally… that is something even china dreams of having…
