Kendrick is King

In the last 5-6 years, King Kendrick has released more quality music than most rappers will ever release in their whole decades plus careers. His current hot steak will be discussed for decades to come. This year, he released left overs from his TPAB sessions… That collection/ “album” is still one of the dopest releases this year. That’s how much he is shitting on errbady right now…

That 2013 “Control” guest verse wasn’t empty rhetoric…

I’m not sure about your criteria for top/ best, but winning the Best Rap Album Grammy has hardly ever been an indication of the Best Rap Album released that year. The only times they got it right IMHO in the last 5 years were 2012 (for MBDTF) and 2016 (for TPAB). In 2014, Macklemore has to infamously publicly apologize to King Kendrick for “robbing” him (GKMC). That Macklemore win was just fucked up. But it showed a glaring problem with the Grammy voting committee. A bunch of 10000-20000 “industry insiders,” mostly old and white and who are totally out of touch with fringe genres like hiphop. That explains why underground albums never get nominated, why a hiphop album hasn’t won the main Album of the Year category since 2004 and why the more you sell, the more you’re likely to win Best Rap Album (like “Views” this year, which was quite meffi).

Just to note, Puff Daddy has a Best Rap Album Grammy :eek::eek: But legends like Nas and Lupe Fiasco, despite numerous consistent nominations, have NONE! That’s how much of a joke Grammy’s are…
