My Ideal Religion/Church

Many people, esp those whom we interact at a personal level, have asked about my religious beliefs. Superficially, I answer that I am a Jehovah Witness. But that is just because it is where I congregate. I consider it to be closest to what I believe. Over time, I will establish my own church, which will be an image of the church Jesus the Christ commanded. The church will be founded based on an impartial analysis of the scriptures, devoid of any dogmas. I invite like-minded talkers to join me in debating, researching and implementing a church that is a reflection of God’s wishes and commands.

My doctrines are as follows:

Organized Religion
In keeping tradition with early Christians, we will have weekly meetings to study the word of God, worship and pray. There shall be church elders as per Paul’s criteria.

Sabbath
We shall observe the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath. This is my biggest problem with Witnesses.

Paradise, Heaven and Hell
There is a heaven, which is the seat of God. Hell is the grave for the non-righteous.Paradise will be the “new earth” as described in Revelation.

Trinity
God is one, not three. Jesus Christ is the savior of mankind. The Holy Spirit is our helper. No bs of God the father. son and spirit. Totally unacceptable.

Holidays/Festivals
We shall observe only those holidays commanded by God through his word. Specifically, no Easter, Christmas, birthdays or new year. We celebrate Sabbath on the seventh day unlike the current Witnesses. We shall also celebrate the death of Jesus through Holy Communion, weekly.

The Cross
As revealed through apostle Paul, the cross is a significant symbol of Christianity, unlike what current witnesses believe. I adore the cross, but not as a symbol of worship. No idolatry in my church.

Blood Transfusion
I recognize this medical advancement as God’s gift to mankind.

Tithing
This principle is based on greed. Practice charity instead. My church will be supported by anonymous contributors, just like the current JW.

The Decalogue
I respect the ten commandments. Unlike current witnesses, I believe Jesus came to strengthen them, not abolish.

Drinking
While not supporting drunkenness, I do not prohibit a social drink. Good for the stomach, you know.

To be continued.

Amen

Paradise, Heaven and Hell

We need to discuss this one sometime.

Exactly! There’s no such thing as the “Trinity”; it was made up by the Catholic church.

That’s a pandoras box

Great

What’s your viewpoint regarding the heaven/ Hell(/paradise @Acoustic?

Do you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture?

you believe jesus was a prophet?

I see. On the query of God, how does he relate with Christ and the Holy Spirit?
Tithing-Tithes according to the Holy Book, are they supposed to be given in church or to the needy? I always wonder if the Word is flexible. Good idea you have.

Isaiah 9:6 has the answer:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This son is also called "Everlasting Father.:
He is also called “Mighty God.”
So Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Father and Mighty God.

Simple as that.

so in other words this “son of god” tittle is cat piss

God is one. Jesus is his son. Holy spirit is the Helper. Consider HS as God’s direct support line for Christians.

Tithing? Well, it is a biblical concept. According to Jesus “give God what belongs to God”. Remember what Jesus said about what you do to the needy? You do it to God.

That’s exactly who Jesus is

Ok that is your belief.
I believe that God has no distinct son.
Jesus Christ is God Himself who manifested Himself as a Son.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit … that name is Jesus Christ.

So many people will miss that revelation upon which the entire salvation of man hinges.

Jesus Himself gave the answers regarding his godness during his tribulations.

Say you did an offense, was arrested and taken to court. The prosecutor (the devil) accuses you and asks if there’s anyone who can pay your bond, otherwise you go to jail (hell). Someone volunteers to pay your bond. He volunteers to take you to his home and guide you so you can stop committing offenses. You agree. That man who paid your bond also happens to be your dad. In this situation, he acted as your Savior by paying your bond. He takes you to his house in his role as “Father” and guides you in His capacity as “Holy Spirit.” His real name is not Father, Holy Spirit or Savior. His real NAME is the Lord Jesus Christ!

Pays your bond. To whom? himself? Doesn’t sound logical.

Suppose John 3_16 read " For god so loved the world that he gave his life. … …"

Mmh. When Jesus manifested himself as a son, yet he was God, was he praying to himself? He prayed to himself and multiplied fish and bread? That concept is ever difficult to understand.
