Many people, esp those whom we interact at a personal level, have asked about my religious beliefs. Superficially, I answer that I am a Jehovah Witness. But that is just because it is where I congregate. I consider it to be closest to what I believe. Over time, I will establish my own church, which will be an image of the church Jesus the Christ commanded. The church will be founded based on an impartial analysis of the scriptures, devoid of any dogmas. I invite like-minded talkers to join me in debating, researching and implementing a church that is a reflection of God’s wishes and commands.
My doctrines are as follows:
Organized Religion
In keeping tradition with early Christians, we will have weekly meetings to study the word of God, worship and pray. There shall be church elders as per Paul’s criteria.
Sabbath
We shall observe the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath. This is my biggest problem with Witnesses.
Paradise, Heaven and Hell
There is a heaven, which is the seat of God. Hell is the grave for the non-righteous.Paradise will be the “new earth” as described in Revelation.
Trinity
God is one, not three. Jesus Christ is the savior of mankind. The Holy Spirit is our helper. No bs of God the father. son and spirit. Totally unacceptable.
Holidays/Festivals
We shall observe only those holidays commanded by God through his word. Specifically, no Easter, Christmas, birthdays or new year. We celebrate Sabbath on the seventh day unlike the current Witnesses. We shall also celebrate the death of Jesus through Holy Communion, weekly.
The Cross
As revealed through apostle Paul, the cross is a significant symbol of Christianity, unlike what current witnesses believe. I adore the cross, but not as a symbol of worship. No idolatry in my church.
Blood Transfusion
I recognize this medical advancement as God’s gift to mankind.
Tithing
This principle is based on greed. Practice charity instead. My church will be supported by anonymous contributors, just like the current JW.
The Decalogue
I respect the ten commandments. Unlike current witnesses, I believe Jesus came to strengthen them, not abolish.
Drinking
While not supporting drunkenness, I do not prohibit a social drink. Good for the stomach, you know.
To be continued.
