Art is one great ageless undertaking that is slowly being overtaken by technology. It is sad to look into the future only to realize that robots will be able to produce these masterpieces in seconds.
Not any near future. What is valued in art is not fidelity. Its the human aspect of it. If is were fidelity, then NIKON and SONY would take over. Art has grown more valuable even with improving technology.
I couldn’t agree less. However, looking at Artists in the pipeline I can’t help but wonder, ‘where did the talent go?’ Most of this individuals are being swallowed by the likes of graphic design, animation, architecture…etc Very technological art forms.
It will survive. Only a different version. For example, graffitti art of early twenty first century may be invaluable in 2500 AD. Its like music. You can mechanize music all you want but poetry and singing will remain invaluable.
hehehe…
i would kill him first
Look at calligraphy there are so many softwares that all you need is type and print calligraphy fonts onto something but many individuals and companies opt to have a human hand to write and pay good money for it.
Technology can’t replace some crafts
Anyone can command a machine to print an image, type in caligraphy e.t.c but the resulting piece wunt have character, history, emotions captured by the artist at the time.so human art will never loose value.
for instance, many would pay more for a hand drawn portrait kuliko a computer generated one
