State lawyer Nina Ngina applied for her detention for 14 days, saying police need that time to investigate the matter. Inspector Samuel Kinuthia, who is investigating the case, yesterday told the court that detectives need 14 days to investigate. Mukira looked restless as the police officer read the affidavit detailing the reasons for seeking to detain her for 14 days. She complained that she was unwell and wanted to be taken to the hospital. The magistrate ordered the police to ensure she is taken to hospital for immediate check-up. The woman claims her husband picked a quarrel with her in their matrimonial home after she had fished him from a bar where he was with another woman. The court ordered she be taken to the High Court on March 16 to be charged with murder.
