Actually Kibaki would have had a peaceful presidency. By the time raila was joining kibaki, Raila had been seriously played by moi, walked out of KANU, had no party, with two months to elections.
Joining the opposition gave him a lifeline and ruined Kibaki’s legacy.
Kibaki, Wamalwa and Ngilu were already in a coalition “the serena talks” but lets be serious here Kibaki and Wamalwa were the only serious contenders for PORK and VPORK by virtue of experience, education and numbers.
Raila was a johhny come lately to the opposition, his kibaki tosha was a survival trick which endeared him to the greeks and a bargaining tool to con his way to a PM position in some shady backroom deals.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
