The MCA made it in the news for being from the lakeside yet he clinched the jubilee ticket in Kahawa Wendani which is a jubilee stronghold.The in thing here was he being a luo elected in central.I know him personally na ni mtu wa watu,approachable and above all very humble.

Now after all his struggle ,he may not win in the forthcoming election because his brothers and sisters from the lakeside are chest thumping saying they are going to rule central guys in their own backyard then quote the “mtambo wa gearbox” (am yet to know why he using that phrase).This include the usual annoying ululation where at some point the guys mention ODM,CORD bla bla

The aspirant must unequivocally distance himself from the Lakeside fools, and articulate his intentions the way he did in that feature following the nominations. Kahawa Wendani is not Baba Dogo or Kibra, and the voters will stick to him is he can avoid being dragged down by his brothers.

Gearbox mtambo wa chuma…better hope that there will be many independent candidates to split votes. Otherwise, he will be in for a big surprise. I can guarantee it in writing that if there is one or two Kikuyu independent candidates, Gearbox will lose…despite his heroic efforts in adversity.

I regularly work with Luo guys since I like how thorough they are in their work and most, especially technicians are very good at what they do.
But that’s where it ends, that friendly, cheerful, humorous fundi will turn into a completely arrogant jack ass once he gets in the company of 10 others whether heading to a Gor Mahia game or Cord/ODM /Naswa rally. Much as you try to accommodate them, their ugly side will still rear up.
