Not true, thats a big lie. Despite being on a very huge contract at Madrid, and despite the fact that Madrid still hoped against hope that he might still rediscover his form and fitness,Hazard decided to terminate his contract early…a very rare thing considering how greedy most players have become these days. He could have easily waited for 12 more months, earned $10M and left on a bosman but he chose to leave early…he could also have easily gone to any club in Saudia,China or the US like @sokwemtu is asking where he would still have easily made some type of exhibition appearances and earned over $5M a season but he chose to go against this greedy path. At Chelsea he famously opted against upgrading his contract prematurely to become their highest earner under Conte but he instead instructed his agent to let him concentrate on his soccer. He also refused to be a selfish player, which would have given him a fighting chance against the likes of Messi and Ronaldo in the fight for Ballon d’or but would instead pass it to a better placed player…a very rare unselfish player
