Mother in law kwangu hutembea mchana when am away and by the time I get back ashaenda zake. It’s the kids who will tell me later ‘cucu alikuwa amekuja’.
Lakeside and western guys hawawezi kulala na mother-in-laws wao under the same roof. Let alone the mother to the husband or the wife sleeping on the matrimonial bed. You can take that to equity.

My mum cannot sleep in my house…I think its traditional ama? (Gikuyu). But my mum in law comes over once in a long while, she is fun to be with and the kids love her( I always make sure she has her amarula or baileys) and she doesn’t overstay her visit.

Mtu kwao ni Thika sioni kwa nini mzazi akuje kuishi kwake (assuming he was staying in Nairobi). In my hustling days kuna hao ingine ya neighbor wife msap huzzie mkao, both mother in-laws came on the same day. Wote walishare bed ya the couple, who were forced to make other sleeping arrangements.
Reminds me of a quote I saw long time ago( I think in reader’s digest- laughter is the best medicine) " How comes In-laws are unwanted and outlaws are wanted?" I found it funny and ironical.
