Hii mambo ya money market funds the more I dig into it, the more naona zingine zikiwa a big scam. Kuna moja inaitwa Etica 18% for Ksh investments, 8% for USD. Doesn’t make sense.

Buy some real estate here, some bonds there, a painting or two pale, some land there, a few stocks pale and some crypto here or there.

Kila kitu ni kujituma. There might not be a market but you can pioneer that. If you can get a building to rent, buy very nice pieces of art from local artists and then open an art gallery with exhibition days it can be a very viable business.
Sometimes the market doesn’t know what it wants. Just give them something to work with and you might unlock a new frontier in this shithole country. That’s why I don’t always believe in advice kama “oh, you need to find a problem and then solve it” cliché.
MMF is not a scam per say but then people need to be careful where they put their money.Being listed by CMA doesn’t mean that you won’t be scammed.Any company can go under.However diversifying your portfolio especially with financial assets and a bit of physical assets is key.By the way, investment basically a science! I don’t know why it classified under art.You need to know when to get into a market and when to get out.

Money market funds in Kenya are just people reselling treasury bills to you with a lower percentage. Just go and buy treasury bills directly yourself

Wewe ata unasema nini? Are MMFs treasury bill resellers or not? Mind you you can also compound treasury bills if you want, it’s not some magical property only found in MMFs

The highest any MMF should be offering is 16.8% (14.3% after tax). Then deduct 1-2% management fees. A net of around 12-13% p.a. or 1-1.1% per month
etica invest around half in t bills.
where does the higher interest come from?
No bank will give you interest beyond what the treasury is paying. The highest I have seen is i and m 15.25% gross for 100m+
