Apparently this specific car he was driving, the wraith, is one of the “safest” cars on the planet.

Ati built like a tank with safety features to avoid fireball explosions like the one that took these kids. It even has special retention seatbelts and knee protection capabilities of sorts. And yet the doors buckled instead of the hinges exploding when witnesses tried to rescue the screaming girls.

The was nothing they could do the doors jammed, the rescuers just stood there and watched the flames.
