Military coups must be condemned - if you want power, convince wananchi to elect you

Hii maneno ya juvenile 30yr old bodyguards or junior military men waking up one day and declaring themselves leaders must stop. Ukitaka kiti enda kwa wananchi utafute kura. Not taking your gun and going to the TV station to declare yourself the leader. The madness must stop.

so long as law [insofar as it affects the common civilian] is observed, order is maintained, human rights are respected and the soldiers stay the fućk inside their damn barracks, who cares?

The leaders in the last two coups bring that on themselves. Something has to be done to stop them and that can only be the military, only that the military must hand over power to the civilian through a free and fair election.

How did they bring it to themselves? In the Gabon elections there were 14 presidential candidates. Bongo won by 64%, followed by closest challenger Albert Ossa at 30% of the votes.

In Niger they held elections in December 2020 and there were 30 presidential candidates. Bazoum got 39% of the vote while closest rival Ousmane got 16%. Since no candidate got 50%+1, a re-run was held in april 2021 and Bazoum won with 55% of vote while opposition candidate Ousamane got 44%.

So what wrong did the leaders do to have them overthrown by the military? They won elections after competing with many candidates.

Did he actually win by that Margin. Remember International Observers were not allowed, Internet was Shutoff and Carfew was in force…
