Meru Students Go On Rampage After Being Denied Chance To Have S*x

Students of Kamama Boys High School in Embu County have been sent home after they went on the rampage and damaged property on Monday night.

The students smashed window panes in their dormitories and classrooms during the about 11pm incident on claims that they had been denied enough time to socialize with girls from a neighbouring school.

They had earlier held a debate competition with students of St Ann’s Kiriari Girls, but got angry after the girls were driven back to their institution.

Embu North police boss James Karisa said the move was reported to have angered the boys who went for their evening studies grumbling.

As they went back to classrooms, the about 500 students started pelting stones and injured the deputy principal who was trying to calm them.

They later stormed out of the institution.

Mr Karisa said the teacher sustained head injury.

He said that no student was injured as they protected those who did not engage in the rampage, but property of unknown value was destroyed.

School Principal Obadiah Mwatha said the move caught them by surprise as there had not been any complaints.

He said the students were allowed to go home.
