The police will be very careful as they discharge their duties lest they end up in court. The bosses will reign in on the rogue policemen to prevent such occurrences and embarassments.

A conviction on failure to attend court should not be appealable for how do you present yourself before a higher court a d you couldn’t appear before a lower one. Nikiwa judge I cannot even listen to such a case, enda kule uliitwa Kwanza before coming to flap your gums in my court

If the judge quashes that prison sentence then we will know we have a basket case judiciary

Wacha kutumia magoti kureason. He was not convicted for anything to do with the riots but failing to appear before a court after summons. Nobody was after his skin, he was asked to appear as the holder of the office. The court summoned the IG not Masengeli, but in his individual capacity as Masengeli he disobeyed the court summons. Ni wapi hujaelewa sasa?
They are usually quashed or reduced to a fine in such cases because he is not an accused refusing to attend their own hearing
