Methinks too that it is just a passing fad among Kenyans kama vile ilikuwa na Toyota 110, premio, vanguard, corrola nze, fielder, Nissan sunny, crown, harrier et al. Basically shitty cars that managed to capture the market. SAA hizi watu wanakamuliwa 2m plus for a cx5 which to me ni umeffi.
current mazdas are conventional automatics. Even though the transmissions are mazda design, they are made by the godpapa of auto transmissions, Aisin. Kenyan terrain is very unkind to the cvt transmissions toyota introduced even though they are still made by Aisin. Toyota went cost cutting because cvt is cheaper to make than a six or eight speed auto. Then again mazda is years ahead of others in engine technology and design. They have invested a lot to counter the problems they introduced when they teamed with ford. They currently are making some of the best cars from japan. They will have a good run for decade or two before they also water down their products when they capture market. Nothing lasts forever.
But my logic stems from the fact that the sum can give you a huge jump in terms of comfort & utility.
The same way one decides to save for mazda demio @ 1m. My logic is, kama umesave hadi hapo, si unaeza kua patient u top up kidogo, say hata 200 and jump to the next class of vehicles?
Ni gani afadhali…kukamuliwa 2m for a premio ama for a cx-5?
Afadhali cx-5. Premio nayo zii. I can never touch that car even with a ten foot pole. Unaendesha gari na wasi wasi bana.
