Masinga TT 2025

I attended the End Game this weekend (last TT event, KAA will be undertaking developments there so sadly Masinga TT has come to it’s end). Here’s a recap of the event:

The Good:
Car culture in Kenya is at fever pitch! Watu wako na magari bwana! A good number of the competitors had some seriously built engines: George Nicholas was the highlight of the day, dude has a mad Subaru GC8 STi 22B conversion and that car has some unreal weight reduction mods, entire body panels are made from carbon fiber, suspension has been changed to a lighter but still sturdier frame. The effect was lightning fast launches and crazy top end speed. Dude was making a comeback to the track and he lived up to the hype. He cleaned out a V8 Audi, Golf R, Sequential gearbox swapped STI and many others, not sure why he didn’t get to the final cos he won all his races. Leroy Otto, always sends that GC8 conversion to the moon, dude shifts F.A.S.T, he however always blows up something, last time it was some radiator piping, this time it was the turbo that gave way, he runs serious power in that motor but he needs to get the balance right, but overall he is a top guy, unbeatable in the gymkhana and a legit champ or runner’s up on the drags were his car not to go out in the semi finals. Organisation of event: brilliant, security, paramedics, fire engine, marshals etc. the event was very organised and safety was top notch.

The Bad
I know ukambani is hot but that solar put in an extra shift. The place was a furnace, didn’t matter how lightly dressed you were, them UV rays penetrated deep into your soul, exhaustiom ilifanya wengi warudi kwa magari kulala.
Entertainment: normally there is a mobile entertainment truck for after-party manenoz but there was none so day one was a bit subdued, some folks camped at the track and made their own merry.
Few cars on the track: absence of top competitors like Rupal Racing lessened the anticipation. To those who follow these events, everyone wanted a Rupal Racing (Karan) vs Auto Art Garage (George Nicholas) vs Otto Tuned (Leroy) but Rupal never made it to the event and Leroy’s car blew it’s turbo.

Generally experience ilikuwa fiti sana.

Kuna elders wengine walikuwa Masinga? How were your experiences?

Wapi photos?
Kuna mwenye alikuja na gtr?
Kuna mwenye alikuja na hii flex?

Ama hii flex?

Hapa watu hu tow the track cars to the field, nothing fancy, just get a flatbed truck and have your car delivered. The real flex is whether you obliterate your opponents on the track not how your vehicle is delivered. There was no GTR, watu hatambua hiyo gari na vile ilioshwa na a 2.3L GC8 at ICD lol. GTR yenye iko na pedigree ya tracking in Kenya is Tanuki’s, the rest are mainly stock with minimal tunes so they stand no chance against cars with built engines and transmissions.
