Marriages are still working?

How comes all we hear here are people whining on how this thing called marriage ain’t working? Ama ni kudiscourage us from it?

16 years and counting, getting to know each other well before marriage is also key. My wife was my first girlfriend, and I her first boyfriend(or so I believe), it has not been all smooth but looking at my pals, I am doing great and that gives me a lot of hope. I am not being tribal but try to marry someone you share a cultural background. A few of my friends who were more “liberal” and married outside the larger Luhya community have ended up soo badly, some dead.

On that last remark, leteni matusi, Leo niko tu kwa keja I will handle you.

Its nice to hear that @mulosi. The air here on marriage is very negative. makes me shrink back when i contemplate that topic.

Usijali bro, if you have somebody you truely love and she loves you then start life. We got married when I was 22 and she was 19, I did not even have a job.

That is the challenge you guys have nowadays, you can still find a lady who sees some potential in you, the problem is you sustaining her when you are jobless Na mafisi kila mahili.

A guy you are 38 and have been married for 16 years? You never kissed enough ‘frogress’ b4 getting the right one.

Mimi ata mambo ya culture of the two tribes that maketh me sizitambui .

Hiyo reasoning yako mundu ni upus tupu.

Same tribe,race,religion/beliefs… na bado divorce inafanyika.

I heard being friends with each other is important in today’s marriages.

But still people complain of being in the friends zone. How do you move from there to marriage?

Of all other people unauliza manki? He is the FZM chairlady. @Gio is the chairman.

Experts say one should declare intentions first not being a friend hoping to be a lover some day.

Am thinking of going Nilote now that you have brought this up, am a kyuk and with a luo lady…been 5 years now but recently she have been showing weird characters. The last statement being…“wajua nyinyi wakikuyu…” sai acha nikae kama sielewi kitu, maybe am just paranoid.

So lovers first then friends later?

IDK

Definitely after mucking around. Then you just settle knowing that “K is constant”.

does this apply to the muwoman? Would you still marry her after telling you she has fuckd a total of 52 different men?
