How do you make money that enables you to travel to those destinations?
Haha endelea hivyo tutakupandisha cheo ukuwe elder
I travel on a budget, book cheap flights, stay on affordable Airbnbs or with friends. The voice over job pays good, and the more I travel, the more subscribers increase, the more people view the content the more I earn. So part of the money is from youtube and part of it from other ventures. But for my trip in Rwanda and Burundi it was purely from my savings as I had not started earning on YouTube. For the trip in Tanzania it was all from youtube superchat and Uganda was all catered by youtube.
Hello Everyone, my name is AFRICAN TIGRESS . I am a Kenyan Youtuber. I am here to discuss on how someone can make money on YouTube due to popular demand. So I will first share my journey. I started my YouTube channel last October 2018. For me it was basically a place to store memories from my travels and adventure. I didn’t know anything about youtube paying and stuff like that untill mid February 2019 when a friend suggested that if I became serious on YouTube I could actually get paid for that.i had only 61 subscribers then. I researched and now was determined to start getting paid by the end of the year. Initially I had the fear of sharing my channel because of the stereotypes a lot of people have towards Youtubers. But in March 2019 I decided not to give a f**k and do what makes me happy. I started sharing it out.

So in order to start getting paid on YouTube you need to have 1000 subscribers, and 4000hrs(240K mins) watchtime in the past 12months. So incase you have 1 video that is 10 minutes long 24k people will need to watch it fully in order to get the 240K minutes. Basically the more videos you have the easier it is to attain the watch time. It is the total amount of time that people have watched all your videos. If you don’t attain the watch time and subscribers at the end of the 12 months, you have to start all over again.
To my surprise I hit 1K subscribers by mid March and one of my videos blew. I got the 4000hrs on 24th March and by end month I got approved for the YouTube Partner Programme(monetization). As you are creating a Youtube channel you must have an adsense account. So once you have been approved for monetization and you are making money it will be sent to your adsense account. You can only withdraw from adsense once you have hit the payment threshold which is €70. Keep an eye on your adsense as they will send you a pin to your post office which you must key in in order to withdraw the funds.
So my first payment on YouTube which was the April payment was €127. At this time my channel was about to hit 3K subscribers. The next payment was more than triple the first payment. And the channel keeps growing every month the payment gets better. I am currently at 10.4K subscribers.
There are lots of opportunities that have risen from the channel including voice over opportunities for some Italian company that knew me from youtube and paying very well for that. There are companies that want me to promote their products and services some I do some I don’t depending on what my audience would love to see.
You can also use your YouTube channel to now promote your business incase you have one.
How does YouTube pay? It basically pays based on the ads placed on your videos. If your video is less than 10 mins you can’t add more ads to it. It will most likely have 1 ad. Any video above 10 mins, as a creator you can insert more ad breaks. In my opinion I think the best videos are between 10-15 minutes. So the location of the viewers also matters. If most of your viewers are from the US which has good CPM(cost per 1000views)about you willl earn better than views from Burundi for instance whose CPM is low…This is because advertisers in the US pay higher to advertise on YouTube than advertisers from Burundi or most African countries.

Ask me any question.
You were just the last person here to learn this
Before they changed the rules for ads on Youtube I had made about 30 euros from two videos.
I have since realised there is an easier way to make videos that will earn over a long time. Basically courses.
Mwanaume ni ngumu sana succeeding on Youtube if you put your ugly mug in the video.
Welcome make this streets live again
Kudos and arm yourself with knowledge about youtube policies so that in future you do not get demonetized.
Sure, this is very important

it is important to come up with something new, fresh. because everyone has a bunch of reviews of food, travel and stuff. and if you come up with something new - there is a whole army of people who will watch. and then there will be a good profit
