An anti-corruption court was on Tuesday told that Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi did not sit the 2006 KCSE exams as earlier alleged.
Kenya National Examinations Council principal examinations secretary Nabiki ene Kashu told magistrate Felix Kombo that Sudi did not register or sit the 2006 KCSE examination at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi.

She was testifying in a case in which Sudi has been charged with forging a diploma certificate in business management purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the Kenya Institute of Management.
He is also accused of forging his KCSE certificate purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the Kenya National Examination council.
Kashu, the eighth prosecution witness, said they received a letter from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on September 17, 2015. The commission was requesting confirmation of candidacy on academic results of Sudi for the year 2006.
“In the letter, we were asked to authenticate whether such a candidate sat his KCSE in the year 2006 at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi in November and awarded certificate serial number 3381074 under index 401006/081.”
Kashu said after checking, they established that the 401006 code did not belong to Highway secondary but Parklands Secondary School.
The code for Highway Knec records show was 401005.
“We also established that a candidate by the name Sudi did not appear in the 2006 Knec database for either Parklands Secondary School or Highway Secondary School,” the witness said.
The court heard there was no school called Highway High School during the 2006 KCSE examination as indicated in Sudi’s certificate.
On further request by the EACC to confirm a copy of the certificate for the year 2006 KCSE examination result, they established that Sudi did not register nor sit the 2006 examinations at Highway High School under index 401006/081.
The code for Highway Secondary School was 401005 and not 401006 as indicated in the purported copy of the certificate presented to Knec for authentication code
Kashu said index 401006/081 belonged to Obaje Bob Onyango, who was registered and sat the 2006 KCSE examinations at Parklands Secondary School.
“There is no possibility of two schools sharing a code number during a given examination. Similarly, there is no possibility of two candidates sharing an index number,”
“The purported copy of certificates presented to Knec for authentication purposes is obtained from a forged document,” the witness said.
Kashu has been working at Knec for 19 years. Her duties include confirmation of examination results, replacements of certificates and equations of foreign qualifications.

The man could have been tutored by some of his counterfeiting contemporaries and elder peers in how to pay for such illegal academic services.

An initial cash payment of fifteen thousand shillings to a private candidate to take the KCSE in his name in 2006. And later deliver the final payment of another fifteen thousand shillings, plus a huge bonus depending on whether the results exceeded his ‘false’ expectations.

Gone are the days when cadet recruits used to be selected from the former seven provinces only for them to be kicked out a few weeks after arriving at Lanet for the start of their basic military training. There were some suspects (cheats) who could not even name the school principals.
The EACC is a toothless dog, as are all Kenyan institutions. Almost 7 freaking years, overwhelming evidence that Sudi isn’t who he portrays to be yet the guy is still an MP.
How is it an issue? Nyinyi na hizo makaratasi zenyu mmefikisha wapi nchi? Most of the elites of the country went to alliance: faida imekuwa nini? Kidero na hizo suti zake, zimesaidia nini?
This is a very serious matter. A KCSE certificate is one of the requirements of become an MP. So because this illiterate sudi doesnt have one, he will lose his seat and will will have to repay all the illegally earned salary for 9yrs. He will also be put in for forgery.
