well, a few minutes ago …
TANZANIA HAS freed 2 CPJ journalists Muthoki Mumo and Angela Quintal who were detained last night in Dar, South Africa Foreign ministry says.
hehe.
swali langu ni je? mbona ujumbe umetoka SA?
Tz expelled the eu envoy after he questioned the police state status now existing there. The eu has not released any funding since, as it reviews its partnership. The world bank and imf have also suspended all funding after Tz passed a law criminalizing contradicting official government numbers of the economy. The only sector in Tz going well is tourism but that has now hit a road block after their public state funded attacks on gays. The stupid activists have now lobbied travel firms in the west to drop booking Tz travels. I don’t support eu, world bank, IMF and gay activists at all but its now their problem to deal with all of them at the same time. All investors into Tz are on hold at present and in the short term. Megafools has shown he is ruling by decree not law like a king or emperor. Those agreements signed can be thrown out overnight.

The US has warned its citizens in Tanzania to be cautious after the commercial capital Dar es Salaam announced a crackdown on homosexuality, a criminal offence in the country.

In an alert on its website late on Saturday, the US embassy in Tanzania advised Americans to review their social media profiles and internet footprints.
“Remove or protect images and language that may run afoul of Tanzanian laws regarding homosexual practices and explicit sexual activity,” it said.
The alert said any US citizen who was detained or arrested should ensure the Tanzanian authorities informed the embassy.
Dar es Salaam’s administrative chief, Paul Makonda, said on Wednesday a special committee would seek to identify and punish gay people, sex workers and online fraudsters in the city from this week.
The foreign ministry said Makonda was voicing his own opinion and the planned crackdown did not have national government support.
“The government of the United Republic of Tanzania would like to clarify that those are his own views and not the government position,” the ministry said in a statement.
Last October, at least 12 men were arrested at a Dar es Salaam hotel, in a raid on a gathering which authorities said was to promote same-sex relationships.
President John Magufuli has cracked down on homosexuality since winning power in 2015. A conviction for having “carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature” could lead to a sentence of up to 30 years in jail.
Homosexuality remains taboo across much of Africa and gay people face discrimination or persecution, with rights groups often reluctant to speak publicly in defence of gay rights.
In 2016, Tanzania banned nongovernmental organisations from distributing free lubricants to gays as part of efforts to control the spread of HIV/Aids, even though some health experts warn that shutting down such outreach programmes could put the wider population at higher risk of infection.
Were the Kenyan fishermen released.I think we try so much to be in EAC than our neighbors
NOT YET, we like kissing ass while ours is being kicked
I think Kamwana is usually very soft. PR manenos and playing Mr good guy itamumaliza
If we had a government instead of cartels of looters maybe we’d not be getting our ass kicked. Dealing with Tanzania doesn’t come with a tender or import subsidy so nobody in government is interested.
(Same goes for any other problem a Kenyan might have within our outside these borders btw)
We are on our own.

CPJ calls on Tanzania authorities to release staff Angela Quintal and Muthoki Mumo
That’s why we call the buxturd Magufool.
Mapadlock is drunk on power.
Interesting that you do not support World Bank but you quote their statistics when defending the economic performance of Kenya more so when the GDP stats favor the current regime
It’s not easy being an all-or-nothing lover or hater, huh?
Got to walk the middle path…emotive people, sycophants, hypocrites and opportunists tend to take extremes…
Now, isn’t that exactly what @spear was doing, being aware of the bad but acknowledging the good?
kamwana is a business man. He worries about profits. As you can see, magufools doesnt know how policy affects the economy. We all don’t like that homocrap but you don’t have to put it at the front of National policy. Education, Health care or corruption seems like the right ting to push in the front of the queue

Museveni started kicking dirt in our face and pissing on us by occupying Mgingo when Kibaki was President. The solution may not be show of Kenya military muscle. Maybe Kamwana is just reluctant to break a secret deal between Museveni and Kibaki. Either way we look weak in the region.
Advocate…his was not a qualified statement or it was and I missed out the qualification statement?
It’s not about anyone being soft. It’s about maintaining diplomatic relations with our crucial trading partners. Why do you think US never does anything to Saudi Arabia even when they sponsor terrorists? Kenya gains so much from UG that it can’t risk losing because of Migingo. Let UG have the island for now then when we have no use for them we will unleash our military to reclaim our sovereignty
It was always that obvious but people didn’t see it. Migingo was and is a false flag. M7 won an election courtesy of it 10 years ago thanks to former President Kibaki. Its was an agreement between them. Create a crisis, let him win publicly, great a wave of patriotism in Ug to propel him to an election win. When the issue is over, they withdraw and Kenya Police take over. However periodically they same is repeated to keep locals in UG think its still the status quo.
There is even this good documentary by RT that shows Kenya Police Service have a station and officers there to police the island not Uganda. Uganda marine officers occasionally come as they chase fishermen who crossed to their side to fish.
The kidnapping of Mo was also a state operation. How do you explain a high profile kidnapping of a billionaire critic of the regime in a police state. Half of the population spies, reports every movement of the other half of the population and vice versa. No ransom demand and even strange is his release. In the same car been looked for in the whole country filled with guns and knifes almost like a scripted movie. This was a warning to the private sector to tow the line or suffer consequences.
@ Spear. So what did President Kibaki get from the deal ?
Museveni doesn’t need Mgingo at present for political posturing.
It is an irritant to us and reminds me of the mavi ya kuku comments from the former President Kibaki.
